Theatre show is FAB!

News Forward Action Burntwood (FAB), a partnership of local organisations, hosted a celebration of dance, music and song at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre on 16 June 2009. This was a celebration of their latest project which brought children and local people from Burntwood together to highlight the impact of anti-social behaviour.

The project had run for 12 months and attracted external funding from Burntwood Community and Learning partnerships as well as Lichfield District and Staffordshire County Councils. Working with a number of local schools, the project was intergenerational and looked at the perceptions versus the reality of ASB on people in the community. It's hoped the result will be a better relationship between older and younger people in the community.

Michael Pritchard, Neighbourhood Investment Manager at HomeZone Living, has been instrumental in the FAB initiative. As one of three key people in developing the Performing Arts Project, Michael has gained funding of £10,000.

Michael said; "This was a great way of bringing together diverse sections of the community to tackle a really tricky issue. And what a performance! We definitely all pulled out the stops and made Burntwood look FAB. I think people got more than they bargained for when they came along and saw the performance, so a huge well done and thank you to everyone involved. It has really highlighted the amazing talent we have both amongst older and younger people in our communities."
